Absolutely Sick....
DMC Japan 2009 Finals..
I also went to the Kanto Eliminations, but I have to say that not even the DMC world Final was so well organized as this Japanese Final. The venue was excellent visuals couldn't be better. We could see the DJs spinning from different angles, videos from different cameras mixed and reproduced on 2 screens on the back of the stage, we could see the exact time each DJ had left, japanese people as usual, absolutely polite (maybe too polite for the occasion) anyway... it was excellent.
Battle Winner and representing japan in London is DJ Shota... on the Single DJ Co-Ma won again (also champ in 2008) but I have to say that I was thinking DJ Blu was going to get this one... 1 point difference.... he couldn't hide the disappointment.
But think is that everyone is trying to go Hard Core... Co-Ma's set was in a complete different direction than last year... Why since Netik in 2006 people think that style equals speed.... it's nothing to do with that... turntablism is about "Musicianship" people.. lets not forget.
Anyway will be suporting Japan and Brazil as well of course.. hope the guys from Sampa.. have good tricks on the hand to make it to the DVD this year one more time. We (in Brasil) are getting back to the competitions pace. maybe a couple of years I believe RM or others will get closer to the golden technics... hope so.. in the mean while I have to say that in my opinion, nowadays, Japan is absolutely one of the countries with the highest level in turntablism.. (for me the highest actually). "Ganbate" Brasil, mete a cara que chega lá tb logo.. logo..
Of course I couldn't forget to mention Mr. Kentaro, Busiest DJ in Japan. :) .. happy he is doing well, around the globe with his performances that keep getting fresher every time I see, this time he was with Afra, beat-boxing, and him with Serato live feed scrambling it all with his well known juggle patterns, but with fresh bits here and there.
This are some of the pictures from the event. unfortunately videos aren't allowed in Japan, almost anywhere. even pictures actually are also banned.
This time they said was OK ( course I had some on my phone before they said that... and I would loose the opportunity of having some pictures of this.. Fu*n*k No Way.( maybe one day will try on the eliminations in Kiyose when I'm 60 years old.. :))
Peace. DJ Seven. .

Well, waited for this day but the weather decided not to help, what can I do....
