IT Profile
I started my career in Brazil in 1996, repairing electronic boards for printers, computer terminals and other equipments while was still finishing my 4 years course on which I graduated in 1997 in Electricity and Electronics by CEFET-ES Federal Center of Technology in Espírito Santo (the state in Brazil where I as born north from Rio de Janeiro).
With few years of practice in electronics I was getting closer and closer to computer systems specially printing equipments on which I received my first certifications on various makers such as Epson, Okidata, Kyocera and HP. At this time I had already being exposed and started my practice with Novell and Microsoft Based Networks, using such technologies to connect users and medium volume printers. My first course on Microsoft Networks was completed in 1999 on Windows NT Server.
By having this combination of skills, Electronics and Networks, I was invited by Xerox for a position first servicing printers, copiers and networked multifunctional machines of various sizes and after being in 1 year of training in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro was assigned to cover the north of Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil. With short time in this position I was more involved in Networked systems, had being exposed to huge networks with thousands of users servers and workstations and connecting multiple sites around South America. Having than from this point moved the focus of my career from Hardware to Software.
On the following years, I as moved to other companies and got more specialized in Microsoft Networks and increased my computer network abilities with various Microsoft official courses and after exams started my Certifications on network operating systems.
My first Microsoft Certification was achieved in 2004 as MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) and after frequent courses and exams had others achieved up to the latest version currently available on windows Server 2008.
As I became specialized in computer networks, more opportunities were opened to learn more and more about various applications for this technology. Having spent also 2 years as a research member of the affiliated company of the Japanese Kyocera in Brazil, as part of a multinational team I could concentrate my efforts not only in repairing issues but also on developing new ways to achieve tasks with new approaches to existing tools which was put in practice in various occasions including on the implementation of ISO 9001 Quality Standards and posterior certification by this company and other companies in north Rio de Janeiro. Using Computer Networks to monitor the performance of corporations in real time and helping individuals from production floor to direction to keep track and achieve the company's objectives.
In 2006 as I moved to London and was exposed to a different business administration approach. While working as Systems Engineer for a group of restaurants and night clubs in London I had the chance to visualize how IT was used in this segment of business, my experiences were used in this situation in conjunction with the existing team to redesign and connect 18 different sites in London and Oxford with combined implementation of various network services within the Windows Server environment to provide faulty tolerant services in sites being replicated in real time.
As after 2 years other opportunity was presented, now as Systems Administrator in other company I was assigned to maintain and upgrade the server infrastructure that sustained dynamic web services, mail services and in conjunction with a team in Manchester helped to interconnect both offices and various datacenters and migrate servers and database, mail and web services provided by the company to financial and government institutions in UK and Northern Ireland.
Having than moved back to Brazil for my marriage with my Japanese fiancé, after 3 years abroad, we stayed for 7 months on which I also provided network services for Government related institutions and also for entertainment companies while using digital material for audio and video reproduction. At this stage my Music passion could be combined with my computer and network skills, which was very pleasant.
In March of 2009 me and my wife moved to Japan, and as I get used to the new language, culture and life style in Japanese society a new panorama of opportunities were showed in this land that each day shows me more to learn and new possibilities for my professional and personal life.
